Who is Hola Olive?
Meet Carol Lima, founder of Hola Olive in Barcelona.
Hola! Welcome to Hola Olive. I’m a curious person who is always looking to explore and discover new things, especially when it comes to food and drink. I come from a family who run a cattle ranch in Pantanal, in the Brazilian outback. I’m the fourth generation and have been lucky enough to have had the chance to learn to deal with the cattle, growing and rearing them in a free-range and organic way. I believe my interest in food and gastronomy started here as I was, and still am, curious to know where the food I eat comes from. As such, I do my best to search out small, local and/or family producers, travelling around to learn about new places, their customs and of course, their gastronomy!
I arrived in Barcelona seven years ago and it was love at first sight. Since then I have been able to explore the fantastic gastronomy Catalonia has to offer, from befriending small olive and wine producers to finding a cozy hotel in the Costa Brava with an excellent reputation for food. These experiences, and many more, are what I want to share with people, and that is why I created Hola Olive!
